Our take on the GMWD Adjustable FID Bench

The GMWD Adjustable FID Bench is a flat/incline/decline weight bench rated to 800 lbs in the flat position. It has a 20-degree backrest range, three seat positions, a gap-free pad design and a front handle with rear transport wheels so it can be stored upright in about 4 square feet. It suits home lifters who want one bench for flat pressing, incline work and decline sit-ups without a large footprint.

Pros
  • 800 lb flat capacity covers most home lifters
  • Stores vertically in about 4 sq ft
  • Gap-free pad design is comfortable for pressing
  • Front handle and rear wheels make it easy to move
  • Handles flat, incline and decline work in one bench
Cons
  • Backrest range is only 20 degrees, so incline angles are limited
  • 800 lb rating applies to the flat position, not every angle
  • At 49.5 in tall when stored, check ceiling and wall clearance
  • Few ratings so far (4.2 from 5), so long-term feedback is thin

Questions and answers

Is the GMWD Adjustable FID Bench worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you need one bench for flat, incline and decline work and have little floor space. The 800 lb flat rating and upright storage are its main draws; serious incline pressing may want a bench with a wider backrest range.
How much incline does it actually give?
The backrest adjusts across a 20-degree range, and the seat has three positions up to a 20-degree angle. That is enough for shallow incline and decline work but not for steep incline pressing.
Can it handle heavy bench pressing?
The 800 lb capacity is stated for the flat position. Treat that as the working limit and expect lower safe loads at incline and decline angles.
How much space does it take when stored?
Stored upright it occupies about 4 square feet, and it stands 49.5 in tall. Measure your ceiling and wall clearance before storing it vertically.
Does it come with wheels?
Yes. It has rear transport wheels and a front handle, so you can tilt it and roll it rather than carry it.
When is the price likely to be lowest?
Home gym equipment tends to drop during Black Friday, New Year fitness sales and end-of-summer clearance. Check the price history on this page before buying.
