Is 6A enough to charge a dead car battery?

Six amps will recharge a car battery, but slowly: a fully drained battery can take many hours. For a battery that only needs topping up, it is plenty.

Does it work on 6V or lithium batteries?

The listing specifies 12V only. Do not use it on 6V batteries or lithium packs unless the charger's own label says it supports them.

Is it safe to leave connected for weeks?

It is sold as a maintainer, so it is meant for long-term connection. It has no NRTL safety listing, so check the unit's own instructions and keep it in a dry, ventilated spot.

The listing does not spell out the contents. Expect the charger and its corded leads; check the product label for included clamps or ring terminals before buying.

The best new price is $19.99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, and only one store lists it new. Watch for seasonal battery-maintainer sales in fall and winter.

Our take on the Gped 12V 6A Smart Battery Trickle Charger

The Gped 12V 6A Smart Battery Trickle Charger is a corded maintainer that keeps a 12V car battery topped up and can charge at up to 6 amps. It has an LED display and a universal fitment claim, so it is aimed at ordinary cars and SUVs rather than specialty batteries. At $19.99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of what 6A smart chargers cost, and it is the only new price listed.
