Our take on the Greenworks 24V Brushless 6-1/2 in. Circular Saw Kit with 2Ah Battery and Charger

This is a compact 6-1/2 inch cordless circular saw in Greenworks' 24V line, sold as a kit with a 2Ah battery and charger. The brushless motor spins the 24-tooth blade at 4,800 RPM and cuts 2-1/4 inches deep at 90 degrees, with bevels from 0 to 45 degrees. It weighs 7.4 lbs and Greenworks claims up to 60 cuts per charge and up to 40% faster cutting. The only recorded price is $179.99 at the listed store as of October 30, 2026, so there is no cheaper recent price to compare against.

Pros
  • Brushless motor for longer runtime and motor life
  • Tool-free blade changes via spindle lock
  • 2-1/4 inch depth at 90 degrees is solid for a 6-1/2 inch saw
  • Bevels to 45 degrees with an edge guide included
  • Battery and charger in the box, so it runs out of the gate
  • Dust chute keeps the cut line clearer
Cons
  • 2Ah battery is small; expect fewer cuts in thick or wet wood than the 60-cut claim
  • 2 amp motor limits it to wood and light framing, not heavy ripping
  • 6-1/2 inch blade can't match a 7-1/4 inch saw on deep cuts
  • 7.4 lbs with battery is not the lightest in class
  • 24-tooth blade leaves a rougher finish than a fine-tooth blade

Questions and answers

Is the Greenworks 24V brushless circular saw worth it?
For light woodworking, trim and quick cuts, yes. It is a kit with battery and charger, so it is a low-cost way into the 24V platform. For heavy framing or long rips, a corded 7-1/4 inch saw is the better tool.
How deep can it cut?
2-1/4 inches at 90 degrees and less as you bevel toward 45 degrees. That covers 2x lumber on edge and most plywood and trim work.
How many cuts per charge?
Greenworks claims up to 60 cuts on a single charge with the included 2Ah battery. Real counts drop with thick stock, wet wood and repeated bevel cuts.
Does it use the same batteries as other Greenworks 24V tools?
Yes. The 24V battery works across the Greenworks 24V line, so the pack can be shared with their drills, trimmers and other tools.
What is in the box?
The saw, a 6-1/2 inch 24-tooth blade, an edge guide, a 2Ah 24V battery and a charger.
When is it cheapest?
The only recorded price is $179.99 as of October 30, 2026. Cordless tool kits usually dip during spring and holiday sales, so watch for those windows.
What do buyers say about the Greenworks 24V Brushless 6-1/2 in. Circular Saw Kit with 2Ah Battery and Charger?
