Our take on the Guukin 12 Inch Queen Memory Foam & Spring Hybrid Mattress in a Box

The Guukin 12 Inch Queen is a hybrid mattress that pairs gel-infused memory foam with individually wrapped pocket coils, sold compressed in a box. It is rated medium firmness and has a Euro-top cover in 3D knitted fabric. At $159.96 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a queen hybrid usually costs, so expect a basic build rather than a premium one.

Best forBudget shoppers furnishing a guest or spare bedroomBack and combination sleepers who want medium firmnessCouples who want less motion transfer than an all-foam bedRenters who need a bed delivered in a box
Pros
  • Pocket coils plus memory foam give more bounce and edge support than a plain foam mattress
  • Gel-infused foam is meant to sleep cooler than standard memory foam
  • CertiPUR-US certified foam
  • Euro-top construction adds a soft layer over the springs
  • Very low price for a 12-inch queen hybrid
Cons
  • No foundation or box spring included
  • Not designed for kids, per the brand
  • Thin budget hybrids tend to sag sooner than premium models
  • Coil count and foam density are not published, so durability is hard to judge
  • Returns and warranty depend on the seller

Questions and answers

Is the Guukin 12-inch hybrid mattress worth it?
At $159.96 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is one of the cheapest queen hybrids you can buy. It suits a guest room or a first apartment; if you need a bed to last a decade, spend more.
How firm is it?
The brand lists it as medium. Owners often describe it as medium-firm, so side sleepers who want a soft bed may find it too firm.
Do I need a box spring?
No foundation is included. Put it on a slatted frame, platform bed or adjustable base; a box spring is optional.
Does it work on an adjustable bed?
Pocket coils and foam can flex, but the brand does not list adjustable-base compatibility. Check with the seller before buying for a power base.
