Our take on the H.JSS WDJS square glass food storage containers with lids, 500ml glass food containers for lunch

This is a four-piece set of round borosilicate glass food storage containers with lids, sold under the H.JSS brand. The listing's specs are inconsistent: it names a 500ml square container in the title but describes four identical round 710ml containers of 3-cup capacity, so confirm the shape and size before ordering. Borosilicate glass is the main selling point: it handles heat better than soda-lime glass and is microwave safe. No current price or price history was provided, so there is no basis to call the latest price good or bad.

Questions and answers

Is this set square or round, and what size?
The title says 500ml square containers, but the specs describe four identical round 710ml containers. Treat the listing as ambiguous and confirm with the seller before buying.
Is borosilicate glass better than regular glass here?
Yes for reheating. Borosilicate tolerates rapid temperature changes better than soda-lime glass, which lowers the risk of cracking when hot food meets a cool container.
Can these go in the oven and freezer?
The specs only confirm microwave safety. Borosilicate glass generally handles oven and freezer use, but check the lid material, since most lids are not oven safe.
Are the lids leakproof?
The listing does not say. Snap or clip lids on glass sets vary widely in seal quality, so assume they are splash-resistant rather than leakproof until confirmed.
Is this set worth it?
Without a listed price or price history, value can't be judged. Compare the per-container cost against similar borosilicate sets and weigh the size ambiguity.
When is the best time to buy?
Glass storage sets commonly drop during back-to-school and holiday sales. Track the price history on this page and buy when it sits near its low.
