Is it worth it over a pod machine?

It costs less per cup because it uses loose ground coffee instead of pods. You give up pod convenience, but you get a full 12-cup pot option a pod machine doesn't have.

Does it take K-Cup pods?

No. Both the single-serve side and the pot side brew loose ground coffee. The included mesh scoop measures grounds for a single cup.

Set the clock, then set the auto-brew start time and load water and grounds the night before. It starts brewing at the set time and shuts off after 2 hours.

The brewer, a 12-cup glass carafe, a permanent filter and a mesh scoop. A travel mug is not included.
