Our take on the Haro Flightline 2 Mountain Bike

The Haro Flightline 2 is a budget hardtail mountain bike built on a 6061-T6 aluminum frame with a step-through shape, internal cable routing and a tapered steerer tube. It rolls on 29-inch wheels with 2.1-inch tires and gets 80 mm of coil front suspension with a preload adjuster. It is aimed at trail riding and groomed paths rather than aggressive terrain. At $474.99 at C&W Cycle as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range across the three stores that list it new.

Pros
  • Light, durable 6061-T6 aluminum frame
  • 29-inch wheels roll over roots and rocks well
  • Internal cable routing keeps lines clean
  • Tapered steerer tube leaves room for fork upgrades
  • Step-through frame is easy to mount and dismount
Cons
  • 80 mm of coil travel is short for rough trails
  • Zoom fork is a basic, heavy unit with limited damping
  • No lockout, so it bobs on pavement climbs
  • Mechanical disc brakes and entry drivetrain expected at this price
  • Step-through frame limits standover stiffness for hard riding

Questions and answers

Is the Haro Flightline 2 worth it for a beginner?
Yes, if your riding is mostly groomed trails, dirt paths and some pavement. The aluminum frame and 29-inch wheels are solid, but the 80 mm coil fork and basic components limit it on rough, fast descents.
Is 80 mm of suspension enough for mountain biking?
It is enough for smooth trails, gravel and roots. It is short for rocky, steep or jumpy terrain, where most trail bikes run 100 to 130 mm.
What size rider does the step-through frame fit?
Haro sizes the Flightline 2 for adults, with an XL wheelbase of 1157.3 mm. Check the store's size chart by height and inseam, since step-through frames fit differently than standard ones.
Can I upgrade the Zoom fork later?
The tapered steerer tube makes aftermarket fork swaps easier than on straight-steerer frames. Keep in mind the frame is designed around 80 mm of travel, so a much longer fork will change the handling.
What is in the box with the bike?
Expect the bike partly assembled, typically needing the front wheel, handlebar, pedals and seatpost fitted. Most stores recommend a shop check of brakes and gears before the first ride.
When is the Flightline 2 cheapest?
The best new price was $474.99 at C&W Cycle as of November 4, 2026, with three stores listing it new. Entry hardtails usually drop during end-of-season and clearance sales.
Where is the Haro Flightline 2 Mountain Bike cheapest?
At C&W Cycle, for $474.99, 19% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Haro Flightline 2 Mountain Bike?
8 stores we checked sell it, including C&W Cycle, BicycleBuys.com, cyclefastusa.com, Americancycle.com, The Cutting Edge.
