Is this canister worth it?

If you want a display piece tied to the Chocolate Frog lore, yes. As plain candy storage it is small for the money, so buy it for the design.

How much candy does it hold?

About 10.2 fl oz (320 ml). That is roughly one standard Chocolate Frog box plus a little room, not a bulk jar.

It is a lidded porcelain canister with a glass window, not a gasket-sealed food container. Fine for candy you eat soon; not for long-term freshness.

Can I put it in the dishwasher?

Hand wash is the safer choice. The gold lettering and glass window are best kept out of hot dishwasher cycles.

Is it the same as the Universal Studios Chocolate Frog box?

No. This is a Sun Art canister sold as a separate collectible, not the themed box sold in the parks.

Our take on the Harry Potter SAN4149 Glass Canister

The Harry Potter SAN4149 Glass Canister is a small porcelain-and-glass candy jar made in Japan by Sun Art, styled as a Chocolate Frog pot with a brown frog hood and a purple lid lettered "Chocolate Frogs." It holds about 10.2 fl oz (320 ml) and measures roughly 3.9 x 3.9 x 4.3 inches, so it suits a desk or shelf rather than bulk storage. It is a decorative collectible first and a container second.
