Our take on the Helix Dawn Elite Firm Hybrid Mattress

The Helix Dawn Elite is the firmest model in Helix's Elite line: a hybrid of ultra high density foams over individually wrapped steel coils, wrapped in a GlacioTex Elite cooling cover with a quilted pillow-top finish. It is built for back and stomach sleepers who want a flat, supportive surface with some cushioning on top. The only new price listed is $2,405 at Wayfair as of November 6, 2026, so there is no cheaper new option to compare against right now.

Pros
  • Firm, supportive feel from dense foams over pocketed coils
  • Individually wrapped coils limit motion transfer between partners
  • GlacioTex Elite cover is designed to sleep cooler
  • Quilted pillow-top adds surface cushioning over a firm core
  • Marketed as a solution for back pain
Cons
  • Firm is too hard for many side sleepers despite the side-sleeper tag
  • Premium price: $2,405 at Wayfair as of November 6, 2026
  • Only one store lists a new price, so little room to comparison shop
  • Heavy hybrid construction makes rotating it a two-person job
  • 3.7 out of 5 from 78 ratings suggests a divided reception

Questions and answers

How firm is the Helix Dawn Elite Firm?
It is Helix's firmest Elite hybrid: dense foam over pocketed coils with only a thin quilted top. Expect a flat, hard surface rather than a plush one.
Is it good for side sleepers?
Helix lists side sleeping, but at this firmness most side sleepers will feel pressure at the shoulder and hip. Back and stomach sleepers are the better fit.
Does the cooling cover make a real difference?
The GlacioTex Elite cover is designed to dissipate heat, and owners report sleeping cooler than on all-foam beds. It helps, but it is not air conditioning.
What does it cost?
The only new price listed is $2,405 at Wayfair as of November 6, 2026. No other store currently lists a new price.
Do I need a box spring?
No. A hybrid this thick works on a slatted bed frame, platform base or adjustable base. A box spring adds height but is not required.
How does it differ from the standard Helix Dawn?
The Elite version adds the GlacioTex Elite cooling cover, denser foams and a quilted top over the same firm hybrid concept. It costs more for those upgrades.
Where is the Helix Dawn Elite Firm Hybrid Mattress cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $2,405.00, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Helix Dawn Elite Firm Hybrid Mattress?
Rated 3.7 out of 5 from 78 ratings.
Where can I buy the Helix Dawn Elite Firm Hybrid Mattress?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Wayfair, Mattress Warehouse.
