Our take on the Herdio 4 Inches Outdoor Bluetooth Speakers Waterproof Patio Deck Wall Mount

The Herdio 4-inch outdoor speakers are a pair of wall-mount patio speakers with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and AUX inputs and a claimed 200 W max rating. The 4-inch driver is small, so expect modest bass and volume suited to a deck or porch rather than a large yard. They are rated 3.9 out of 5 from 57 ratings, so reception is mixed but mostly positive. No current price was provided, so check the price history before buying.

Pros
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and AUX inputs give several ways to connect
  • Wall-mount design keeps speakers off the deck
  • 200 W max rating is ample for a small outdoor space
  • Available in black, white and black-white to match siding or trim
  • 4-inch size fits tight spots under eaves
Cons
  • 4-inch drivers limit bass and low-volume detail
  • Outdoor rating covers splashes, not full exposure to rain or sprinklers
  • Wi-Fi setup and app support are less proven than the Bluetooth path
  • Wall mounting needs drilling and a solid surface

Questions and answers

Are these speakers fully waterproof?
They are marketed as outdoor and waterproof, but a 4-inch wall speaker is best under an eave or porch roof. Do not leave them fully exposed to driving rain or sprinklers.
Do I need an amplifier?
No. These are powered speakers with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and AUX inputs, so a phone or tablet can drive them directly. An amp is only needed if you want to add passive speakers.
How loud are 200 W speakers?
The 200 W figure is a maximum rating, not continuous output. With 4-inch drivers they fill a deck or patio comfortably but will not cover a large yard at party volume.
Can I mount them on brick or siding?
Yes, with the right anchors for the surface. Brick needs masonry anchors and siding needs to hit studs or use toggle anchors, so plan the drill points before buying.
What is in the box?
Expect the pair of speakers, mounting brackets and basic wiring or power accessories. Check the listing for the exact included cables before you buy.
When is the best time to buy?
Outdoor speaker prices tend to dip in late summer and around Black Friday. Check the price history on this page and buy when the current price sits near the low end of its recent range.
What do buyers say about the Herdio 4 Inches Outdoor Bluetooth Speakers Waterproof Patio Deck Wall Mount?
Rated 3.9 out of 5 from 57 ratings.
