Is a 2018 Heritage High Number hobby box worth opening?

Only if you want the cards. The 2018 rookie class has cooled, and most boxes do not recoup their price in resale. Set builders and vintage-design fans get the most out of it.

How does it differ from regular 2018 Topps Heritage?

High Number extends the base set with players traded or called up after the spring release, and it uses the same 1969-style design. It is a supplement to Heritage, not a separate design.

What comes in a hobby box?

A hobby box holds 24 packs of 9 cards. Hobby boxes carry the autograph and short-print odds; exact insert and hit counts vary by box.

Are there autographs in it?

Yes, Real One autographs are the main chase, along with relic cards. Hits are not guaranteed in every box, so treat autographs as a chance rather than a certainty.

When is the best time to buy a sealed 2018 box?

Sealed older wax tends to climb rather than fall, so there is no seasonal dip to wait for. Buy when a sealed box is listed below the recent going rate.

Our take on the Heritage High Number Hobby Box

A factory-sealed hobby box of 2018 Topps Heritage High Number, the September 2018 follow-up to that year's Heritage set. Heritage is Topps' vintage-styled line, and High Number adds late-season rookies and traded players on the 1969-style design. Hobby boxes are the format collectors open for a shot at autographs and short prints rather than retail packs. It is a 2018 product, so sealed boxes now trade as nostalgia and set-completion stock rather than as a new release.
