Questions and answers

Is the Eames Sofa Compact worth the price?
It is a well-built designer sofa with a chromed steel frame and foam cushions that should last for years. At $4,995 at Herman Miller as of November 3, you are paying for the Eames name and construction, not for size.
How does it compare to the full-size Eames Sofa?
The Compact is 72.5 inches wide versus the larger Eames Sofa, so it suits smaller rooms and two people. It keeps the same legged steel-frame look but with a narrower seat.
Does it come assembled?
Yes. The sofa ships fully assembled, so no tools or setup are needed beyond placing it in the room.
What upholstery options are available?
It comes in Hopsak fabric as a custom order option, plus Beck, Checker, Isa and Luce. Custom fabrics can change the price and delivery time.
Will it fit through a standard doorway?
At 72.5 inches wide and 30 inches deep, check your door and hallway clearances before ordering. The assembled delivery means it must fit through the entry path.
When is the best time to buy?
Herman Miller runs periodic sales, often around holidays. The current $4,995 at Herman Miller as of November 3 is at the top of its recent range, so waiting for a promotion can save money.
What do buyers say about the Herman Miller Eames Sofa Compact?
Rated 4.6 out of 5 from 9 ratings.
