Our take on the Hershey's Miniatures Assortment

Hershey's Miniatures is a bag of individually wrapped snack-size bars in four varieties: Hershey's milk chocolate, Krackel, Mr. Goodbar and Special Dark. The mix is built for handing out at Halloween and for candy bowls, since each piece is small and wrapped. It is a mainstream grocery item, so the price swings mostly with seasonal promotions rather than brand differences.

Buying in bulk for parties
Pros
  • Four flavors in one bag, so there is something for most tastes
  • Individually wrapped pieces stay fresh and are easy to portion
  • Snack size suits trick-or-treat and candy dishes
  • Widely stocked, so it is easy to restock late in the season
Cons
  • Milk chocolate and Krackel dominate; dark and peanut varieties run short
  • Small bars go fast in a busy candy bowl
  • Chocolate can soften in warm weather during storage or shipping
  • Seasonal bags often cost more per ounce than everyday multipacks

Questions and answers

Is the Hershey's Miniatures assortment worth it for Halloween?
Yes, if you want a recognizable, wrapped chocolate mix without picking flavors yourself. Compare price per ounce against plain Hershey's snack-size bags, which are often cheaper.
What flavors are in the bag?
Hershey's milk chocolate, Krackel (crisped rice), Mr. Goodbar (peanuts) and Special Dark. Counts per flavor vary by bag.
How many pieces come in a bag?
It depends on the bag size, and Hershey's does not guarantee an even split across the four flavors. Check the net weight on the bag rather than the piece count.
When is it cheapest?
Prices are lowest in the weeks before Halloween and again right after, when stores clear seasonal stock. Buy early or wait for post-holiday markdowns.
Does it contain peanuts or gluten?
Mr. Goodbar contains peanuts, and Krackel contains crisped rice with malt, so the bag is not suitable for peanut or gluten allergies. Check the label for the current allergen statement.
