Is the Heybike Mars worth it for commuting?

It fits commutes that end with folding storage or a car trunk, and the 800 W motor handles hills. If you must carry it up stairs daily, the 75 lbs works against it.

How fast does the Heybike Mars go?

Heybike rates it at 28 mph top speed. Real speed depends on rider weight, terrain and charge level.

What is the real range on a charge?

Heybike claims 48 miles. Expect noticeably less at full speed, on hills or with a heavy rider; pedal assist at moderate speed gets closest to the claim.

Who fits the Heybike Mars?

Heybike lists riders from 5'5" to 6'3". Shorter riders may find the folded frame and 20-inch wheels awkward at stops.

Does it come with fenders and a rack?

Check the specific listing for included accessories, since Heybike sells versions with and without fenders and rear racks.

When is the Heybike Mars cheapest?

Folding e-bikes like this tend to drop during spring sales, Black Friday and end-of-season clearance. Use the price history on this page to see where the current price sits.

Our take on the Heybike Mars Folding Electric Bike 20-inch Fat Tire

The Heybike Mars is a folding fat-tire e-bike with a 20-inch wheel, an 800 W rear hub motor and a 48-mile claimed range. It folds for storage and transport, tops out at 28 mph and runs 7-speed gearing on 4-inch fat tires for gravel, hardpack and rough pavement. At 75 lbs it is heavy to lift and carry, so folding helps storage more than daily carrying. It suits riders from 5'5" to 6'3".
