Our take on the Hidnation 9005 LED Conversion Kit

The Hidnation 9005 is a plug-and-play LED headlight bulb kit rated at 12,000 lumens per pair in a 6000K pure white. It uses 9005 connectors, aircraft-grade aluminum housings and an IP68 rating, with a canbus error-free design and EMC anti-interference for European cars. At $89.99 at HIDNation.com as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Questions and answers

Is this kit worth $89.99?
It is a mid-priced 9005 LED kit with canbus error-free circuitry and IP68 sealing, which are the features that usually cost more. Whether it is worth it depends on your housing: in a projector it should work well, in a reflector it may glare.
Will it fit my Audi A4 or Volvo XC90?
Only if your car uses 9005 bulbs. The listing names Audi A4, A6, A8, Porsche 911 and Volvo XC90, but fit depends on the bulb type in your specific trim and year, so check your owner's manual first.
Do I need a separate ballast or canbus adapter?
No ballast is included or needed, since these are LED bulbs, not HID. The canbus error-free design is meant to prevent bulb-out warnings, though some cars still need a separate resistor.
How bright is 12,000 lumens per pair?
That is the kit's rated output for both bulbs, far above a typical halogen. Real-world brightness depends on the housing and how the LED chips align with the reflector.
What is in the box?
Two 9005 LED bulbs, one per side. No ballast, wiring harness or adapters are listed.
When is it cheapest?
Only one new price, $89.99 at HIDNation.com as of November 5, 2026, is listed. With a single seller there is no price history to time a purchase around.
Where is the Hidnation 9005 LED Conversion Kit cheapest?
