Is a percolator worth it over a drip machine?

For camping or fire-side brewing, yes: it needs only a heat source and ground coffee. At home a drip machine or pour-over gives cleaner, less bitter coffee because percolators cycle the brew repeatedly.

How many cups does it actually make?

It is rated at 9 cups, which in percolator terms means small 4- to 5-ounce cups, so roughly 4 to 6 standard mugs. Fill only to the marked level inside the pot.

Can I use it on an induction cooktop?

Stainless steel bodies often work on induction, but the listing does not confirm it. Test with a magnet: if it sticks firmly to the base, it should heat on induction.

What grind should I use?

A coarse, percolator-specific grind. Fine grounds slip through the basket and leave grit in the cup.

One stainless steel percolator with lid, basket and stem. No filters, measuring scoop or spare parts are listed.

It was $37.19 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, with two stores listing it new. Camping gear tends to discount in late fall and winter, outside the summer season.
