Is it comfortable as an everyday sofa?

It is firmer than a standard sofa. Most owners find it fine for sitting but thin for long lounging sessions, so a seat topper helps.

How big is the bed when unfolded?

It opens to a full-size sleeping surface, roughly the footprint of a full mattress. Measure your room before buying, since it needs clear floor space to unfold.

Does it need assembly?

Yes. The frame and modular sections ship flat and must be assembled. Plan on a couple of hours and a second person for the frame.

Can the pieces be arranged in other layouts?

Yes. The modular sections can form a straight sofa, an L-shape with chaise, or a flat bed. The layout is limited by the number of pieces in the set.

Is it good for a guest room?

It works well where space is tight and seating is needed most days. Add a mattress topper and it is acceptable for occasional guests.

When is the best time to buy?

Furniture discounts cluster around Black Friday, Memorial Day and Labor Day. Check the price history before buying, since list prices on import sofas swing widely.

Our take on the HOMLUX 80" Convertible Modular Sofa Bed

The HOMLUX 80" Convertible Modular Sofa Bed is a metal-framed sectional that converts into a full-size sleeper. Its modular pieces rearrange into a sofa, a chaise or a flat bed, which suits small apartments and guest rooms. The black solid upholstery keeps it neutral and easy to match. It is a budget-priced import piece, so expect firmer seating and lighter foam than a dedicated sofa.
