Is the Honeywell HUL520 worth it at $9.92?

At $9.92 at Mercari as of November 3, 2026, it is a low-risk buy for a small room. You give up a humidistat and a big tank, but you get quiet mist and no filter costs.

How often do I need to refill it?

The tank holds 0.5 gallons. On low mist that lasts roughly a night; on high output expect to refill once or twice a day.

Does it have a humidistat or timer?

No. It has adjustable mist control and an auto mode, but no humidistat and no timer, so it runs until you turn it off or the tank empties.

What comes in the box?

The humidifier unit and its tank, plus a quick-start guide. No filters are needed, so there is nothing else to buy.

How does it compare with a larger Honeywell humidifier?

Larger Honeywell cool-mist models cover a full room and hold more water, but they cost more and take up more space. The HUL520 is the pick for a nightstand or desk.

Small humidifiers like this one tend to drop in price outside the winter dry-air season. The $9.92 Mercari price as of November 3, 2026 is already near the bottom of its range.
