Is a brushless random orbital sander worth it over a brushed one?

For regular use, yes. Brushless motors run cooler, need no brush changes, and typically last longer. For occasional weekend jobs, a cheaper brushed sander can be enough.

Can I use standard 5-inch and 6-inch sanding discs?

Yes, it takes standard hook-and-loop discs in both sizes, which are widely sold. Buy discs in the grit range you need, usually 80 to 220 for wood.

Does it collect dust?

It has a dust port, but small onboard bags catch only part of the dust. Hooking it to a shop vacuum gives much better results, especially with 6-inch pads.

What is the difference between the 5-inch and 6-inch pad?

The 6-inch pad covers more area and removes material faster. The 5-inch pad is lighter and easier to control on edges and vertical surfaces.

What comes in the box?

Expect the sander, both backing pads, and a dust bag or port adapter. Sanding discs are often not included, so order paper with it.

Our take on the HONGGE 5 and 6 Inch Brushless Random Orbital Sander

The HONGGE 5 and 6 Inch Brushless Random Orbital Sander is a corded dual-action sander that ships with both a 5-inch and a 6-inch backing pad, so one tool covers finish sanding and faster stock removal. The brushless motor is the headline: no carbon brushes to replace, more runtime per watt, and usually a longer service life than a brushed sander at this size. It also has a detail sander function for reaching into corners and tight spots. No current price was available to compare against its recent range, so check the live listing before buying.
