Our take on the HONGGE Kids 12V Electric Drift Go Kart

The HONGGE Kids 12V Electric Drift Go Kart is a ride-on kart for children with two speed settings of 1.9 and 5 mph, a slow-start function, and a 12V 7Ah lead-acid battery driving a 16000 RPM motor. It adds lights, built-in music, a battery gauge and wear-resistant PU wheels. At $166.99 at JCPenney as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Best forKids roughly 3 to 8 who want a low-speed drift-style kartParents who want a slow-start, two-speed first powered ride-onDriveway and flat pavement useBuyers who want lights and music built in
Pros
  • Two speeds (1.9 and 5 mph) suit beginners and more confident kids
  • Slow-start ramps power in gently instead of jerking forward
  • PU wheels roll quietly and resist wear on pavement
  • Battery indicator shows remaining charge
  • Lights and built-in music add play value
Cons
  • Lead-acid battery is heavier and slower to charge than lithium
  • Top speed of 5 mph is modest next to 24V karts
  • No stated weight limit or age range on the listing
  • Single new price means no discount history to judge

Questions and answers

Is the HONGGE 12V drift go kart worth $166.99?
It is a reasonable price for a 12V kart with two speeds, slow-start and a battery gauge. Comparable 12V karts often sit in the $150 to $250 range, so $166.99 is mid-pack rather than a steal.
How fast does it go?
Two settings: about 1.9 mph and about 5 mph. The slow-start function eases it up to speed, which helps new riders.
How long does the battery last per charge?
The 12V 7Ah lead-acid pack typically gives roughly 45 to 90 minutes of riding depending on speed, terrain and rider weight. Expect closer to the low end at full 5 mph.
What comes in the box?
The go kart itself. The listing does not name a charger, so confirm with the seller that one is included before ordering.
What age or weight is it for?
The listing gives no age or weight limit. As a 12V kids kart with a 5 mph top speed, it generally suits roughly ages 3 to 8; check the seller's stated limit before buying.
When is it cheapest?
Only one new price is listed, $166.99 at JCPenney as of November 3, 2026, so there is no pattern yet. Holiday sales in November and December are the usual window for ride-on discounts.
Where is the HONGGE Kids 12V Electric Drift Go Kart cheapest?
At JCPenney, for $166.99, 50% off, as of our latest check.
