Our take on the HOZEREEL 5/8 in x 100 ft Retractable Garden Hose Reel

The HOZEREEL is a wall-mounted retractable hose reel with 100 ft of 5/8 in hybrid hose, a brass fitting and a 10-pattern nozzle. Its any-length lock lets you pull out just the hose you need and stop it there, then retract it with a short tug. The 5/8 in diameter is the wider standard, so it delivers more flow than 1/2 in reels. At $149.99 at Wayfair as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what 100 ft retractable reels typically cost.

Best forLarge yards needing 100 ft of reachWall-mount setups where a loose hose is a nuisanceGardeners who want one nozzle for many spray patternsHouseholds that want a wider 5/8 in hose for stronger flow
Pros
  • 100 ft of 5/8 in hose covers a long run from one wall point
  • Any-length lock holds the hose at the length you pull out
  • Hybrid hose resists kinking better than basic PVC
  • Brass fittings hold up better than plastic at the spigot
  • 10-pattern nozzle included, so no extra purchase needed
Cons
  • Wall mount needs solid anchoring; not freestanding
  • 100 ft of 5/8 in hose is heavy when full of water
  • Retraction springs and locks are the usual failure point on reels like this
  • Nozzle included is basic compared with a separate spray gun

Questions and answers

Is the HOZEREEL reel worth $149.99?
At $149.99 at Wayfair as of November 4, 2026, it is priced near the bottom for a 100 ft, 5/8 in retractable reel. If you need that reach and a wall mount, it is a reasonable buy; if 50 ft would do, smaller reels cost less.
Does the any-length lock really hold?
Yes. Pull the hose to the length you want and the lock engages; a short tug releases it and the spring retracts the hose. Expect the lock to work best with steady, straight pulls rather than sharp yanks.
What is in the box?
The reel with 100 ft of 5/8 in hybrid hose, a 10-pattern nozzle and the wall-mount bracket and hardware. You supply the connection to your outdoor spigot.
Can I mount it on siding or a fence?
It needs a solid fixing point. Brick, masonry or a sturdy post is best; thin vinyl siding or a loose fence board will not hold a full 100 ft reel safely.
How does 5/8 in compare with 1/2 in hose?
5/8 in carries more water per minute, which matters for long runs and sprinklers. The trade-off is weight and bulk when the hose is full.
When is it cheapest?
Garden hose reels usually dip in late fall and winter, outside watering season. Track the price history here rather than buying at the first spring listing.
Where is the HOZEREEL 5/8 in x 100 ft Retractable Garden Hose Reel cheapest?
