Is the HP Core Ultra 5 225U laptop worth it at $500?

At $500 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair price for a 15.6-inch touchscreen with a 512GB SSD. Comparable new units from other stores are priced higher, so this is near the low end of its range.

Can I upgrade the RAM?

Yes. The laptop ships with 8GB and supports up to 32GB, so a memory upgrade is the first fix if multitasking feels slow.

Is the screen good for outdoor use?

It is a 15.6-inch FHD LED touchscreen at 60 Hz. Brightness is typical for budget laptops, so glare outdoors will be noticeable.

Only light ones. It uses Intel integrated graphics, so expect older or casual titles at low settings, not modern 3D games.

What comes in the box?

The laptop and its power adapter. A stylus is not included, and the touchscreen works with a finger.

Budget HP laptops like this tend to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. The current $500 at eBay is already near the bottom of its recent range.
