Is this a normal laptop?

No. It is a mobile thin client, designed mainly to connect to virtual desktops or cloud workspaces. Local storage and memory are modest on purpose.

Can I use it for everyday home computing?

It can run basic Windows apps, but 8 GB of RAM and a Ryzen 3 make it a poor fit for gaming, video editing or heavy multitasking. A standard laptop at this price does more locally.

Does it come with Windows 10 Pro?

The listing states Windows 10, and HP Elite thin clients typically ship with a business edition and thin client software. Confirm the exact edition and management tools with the seller before ordering.

Can the RAM or storage be upgraded?

Business thin clients often have limited or soldered memory. Check HP's service manual for the mt645 G8 before assuming you can add RAM or swap the SSD.

When is the price lowest?

The best new price is $954.02 at Staples as of November 7, 2026. Business hardware like this tends to drop during HP commercial promotions and end-of-quarter sales.
