Is the HP 15-dy5073dx worth it at $695?

At $695 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair price for an i7 with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Comparable 15-inch laptops with the same chip often land in the $600 to $750 range, so this is not a standout bargain but not overpriced either.

Is the screen good enough for outdoor use?

No. At 250 nits the 1080p IPS touchscreen is fine indoors but washes out in direct sunlight or very bright rooms. It is best used at a desk or near a window rather than outside.

Only light ones. Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics handle older titles, indie games and esports at low settings, but not modern AAA games. There is no dedicated GPU.

How long does the battery actually last?

HP rates it up to 10 hours from a 45Wh battery. Expect closer to 6 to 8 hours of mixed browsing and office work, and less with video streaming or a bright screen.

What ports does it have?

It includes USB-C, USB-A, HDMI and a headphone jack, plus Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2. HDMI lets you connect an external monitor directly.

Does it come with a touchscreen and Windows 11?

Yes. The 15.6-inch 1080p panel is a touchscreen, and Windows 11 Home is preinstalled.
