Our take on the HP LaserJet P2015d Workgroup Laser Printer

The HP LaserJet P2015d is a monochrome workgroup laser printer rated at 26 pages per minute with automatic duplex printing and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray plus a 250-sheet main tray. It connects over USB only, so it needs to sit near a computer or a print server. It is a long-discontinued model, and the only new price listed is $799.99 at eBay as of November 3, 2026, far above what used units and newer monochrome lasers cost.

Questions and answers

Is the P2015d worth $799.99 new?
No. That is far above what this discontinued printer is worth. A used P2015d typically sells for a small fraction of that, and a new monochrome laser with network and Wi-Fi costs less.
Does it print double-sided?
Yes. The d in the model name means automatic duplex, so it prints on both sides without manual flipping.
Can I connect it to Wi-Fi or a network?
Not directly. It has USB only. To share it, connect it to a computer or a USB print server, or look at the P2015dn, which adds Ethernet.
What toner does it use?
It takes the HP 53A (Q7553A) cartridge, rated around 3,000 pages, and the 53X (Q7553X) high-yield cartridge, rated around 7,000 pages. Third-party versions are widely available.
Does it work with Windows 11 or macOS?
Windows usually works with a generic PCL5 or PCL6 driver. Recent macOS versions have no official driver, so Mac users should check before buying.
What is in the box?
A new unit normally ships with the printer, a starter toner cartridge, a power cord and a setup guide. A USB cable is usually not included.
