Is the HP OmniBook 5 16 worth $799?

At $799 it is a fair price for a 16-inch touchscreen laptop with a Core Ultra 7, 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Comparable 16-inch models often cost more, so it is a solid value if you do not need a dedicated GPU.

Is the screen good for design work?

The 1920 x 1200 touchscreen is sharp and has a no-glare finish, which suits documents, browsing and light photo editing. At 60Hz and without a wide color-gamut claim, it is not aimed at color-critical professional work.

How long does the battery last?

HP rates battery life at up to 19 hours, which in real mixed use will be shorter. HP Fast Charge helps top it up quickly during the day.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The 16 GB RAM is soldered on most OmniBook 5 configurations, so buy the memory you need up front. The 512 GB SSD can typically be replaced with a larger drive.

What comes in the box?

You get the laptop, a power adapter and paperwork, plus trial software: one month of Adobe, 30 days of McAfee and three months of PC Game Pass. A Microsoft 365 trial is for new customers only.
