Is the HP Smart Tank 7301 worth it?

If you print a lot in color, yes. The included ink and cheap refills offset the $478.98 price at Walmart as of November 3, 2026. Light printers will not save enough on ink to justify it.

How long does the included ink last?

HP rates the bundled bottles for up to 3 years of typical home office printing. Heavy users will run out sooner and need to buy refill bottles.

Does it work with Ethernet?

Yes. It has both Ethernet and Wi-Fi, so you can wire it to a router or use it wirelessly with phones and laptops.

How does it compare with cartridge printers?

Ink costs far less per page and refills are simple, but you pay more upfront. A cartridge printer is cheaper to buy and more expensive to run.

The printer, setup ink bottles, a printhead and setup guides. A USB cable is not always included, so check before buying if you plan to connect by cable.

Tank printers usually drop during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Watch the price history and buy when it falls below the current $478.98.
