Is the HP Smart Tank 7602 worth it over a cartridge printer?

If you print regularly, the refillable tanks lower ink costs enough to offset the higher upfront price. Light printers may not save enough to justify it.

Does it print double-sided automatically?

Yes. Auto duplex printing is built in, along with a 250-sheet tray and an automatic document feeder for scanning and copying.

HP rates it at 15 ppm mono and 9 ppm color, with a 16-second first color page. That is slow next to laser printers but fine for home and small-office volumes.

What comes in the box?

The printer, setup ink bottles, a power cord and setup guides. A USB cable is not always included, so check before buying if you plan a wired connection.

Can I print from my phone?

Yes. It supports mobile printing through the HP app, alongside USB 2.0 connectivity.

When is the best time to buy?

At $289.99 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it is at the top of its recent range. Waiting for a sale around back-to-school or Black Friday is likely to get a lower price.
