Huluwat 6 Inches Random Orbital Sander Palm Sander

Our take on the Huluwat 6 Inches Random Orbital Sander Palm Sander

The Huluwat is a corded 6-inch random orbital palm sander, the larger of the two common orbital sizes and the one that covers more surface per pass. Random orbit action keeps the pad spinning off-axis so it leaves fewer swirl marks than a plain finishing sander, which makes it a reasonable choice for flattening and smoothing large panels. At $191 at Lowe's as of November 3, 2026, it is priced like a mid-range 6-inch sander rather than a budget one, and only one store lists it new.

Questions and answers

Is a 6-inch sander better than a 5-inch one?

A 6-inch pad covers about 44% more area per pass, so it flattens large panels faster. It is heavier and harder to fit into corners, so many people keep a 5-inch for detail work.

Does it leave swirl marks?

Random orbit sanders spin the pad off-center, which breaks up the scratch pattern and greatly reduces swirls compared with a plain orbital or finishing sander. Fine grits and light pressure give the cleanest finish.

Is $191 a good price for this sander?

It is the only new price listed as of November 3, 2026, so there is nothing to compare it against. Comparable 6-inch corded random orbital sanders from major brands often sell for less, so check those before paying $191.

What sanding discs does it take?

It uses standard 6-inch hook-and-loop discs, which are widely sold in packs from 40 to 400 grit. Buy a range of grits rather than a single pack.

Does it come with a dust bag?

No dust collection is listed for this model. Plan on a shop vacuum or a mask, since sanding dust otherwise goes straight into the air.

When is it cheapest?

Sanders usually drop during fall tool sales and around the winter holidays. With only one store listing it, watch that listing rather than waiting for a price war.

Where is the Huluwat 6 Inches Random Orbital Sander Palm Sander cheapest?

At Lowe's, for $191.00, as of our latest check.
