Is the Hunter Cranbrook worth it?

At $159 at Distritech as of November 3, it is a fair price for a 52-inch fan with a remote and light. It makes the most sense in a dry, low-ceiling room where you want the look more than maximum airflow.

Can I use it outdoors?

No. It is rated for dry locations only, so keep it out of bathrooms, covered porches and anywhere it could get wet.

How does it compare with a DC motor fan?

The AC motor delivers about 4,529 CFM at 74 CFM per watt, which is decent but below modern DC fans. DC fans cost more up front but use less power and usually offer more speeds.

The fan, four reversible composite blades, the light kit and a remote control. A downrod is not needed because it uses a hugger mount.

Will it fit a low ceiling?

Yes, the hugger mount is designed for low ceilings, but the fixture still stands 15.65 inches tall. Check clearance before buying.

Fan prices tend to dip in late fall and winter and around spring sales. The current $159 is already near the bottom of its recent $150 to $200 range.

Our take on the Hunter 52 in. Cranbrook Outdoor Ceiling Fan with Remote

The Hunter Cranbrook is a 52-inch four-blade ceiling fan with a dimmable light, a three-speed AC motor and an included remote. Its hugger mount keeps it close to the ceiling, and the blades are reversible for two looks. It is rated for dry locations only, so it does not belong on a covered porch or in a bathroom. At $159 at Distritech as of November 3, it sits at the low end of its recent range, which has run roughly $150 to $200.
