Our take on the Husqvarna Z254F 54 in. 23 HP Kawasaki Zero Turn Riding Mower

The Husqvarna Z254F is a residential zero-turn mower with a 54-inch fabricated three-blade deck and a 23 HP Kawasaki FR691V V-twin engine. It uses Hydro-Gear EZT transmissions, runs up to 6.5 mph forward, and carries 3.5 gallons of fuel. It suits large flat yards where a wide cut and fast ground speed matter more than a tight turning radius. The only price on record is $3,899 at the listed store as of October 31, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the Husqvarna Z254F worth it?
For a large, mostly flat lawn, the 54-inch fabricated deck and Kawasaki engine are solid hardware at $3,899 as of October 31, 2026. Check dealer support nearby before buying, since owner ratings are only 3.4 out of 5.
How does the Z254F compare with the Z254?
The Z254F is the special edition with a black fabricated 54-inch deck; the base Z254 uses a stamped deck. The fabricated deck resists dents and handles rougher ground better.
What size lawn does a 54-inch zero turn suit?
Roughly one acre and up, especially with few obstacles. The 54-inch deck is wide enough to be awkward on small, heavily landscaped lots.
Can the Z254F handle hills?
It is rated for moderate slopes only. Zero-turn mowers lose traction and steering control on steep inclines, so use a different machine for those areas.
What is included with the mower?
The mower ships with the 54-inch deck, Kawasaki FR691V engine and 3-year consumer warranty. Check with the seller on delivery and setup, since assembly is often left to the buyer.
When is the best time to buy?
Late fall and winter usually bring the deepest discounts on riding mowers as dealers clear inventory. The only recorded price is $3,899 as of October 31, 2026.
Is the Husqvarna Z254F 54 in. 23 HP Kawasaki Zero Turn Riding Mower at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $3,899.00 at Amazon on October 31.
What do buyers say about the Husqvarna Z254F 54 in. 23 HP Kawasaki Zero Turn Riding Mower?
