Our take on the HZG AMD Ryzen 5 5600 RX 6600 M500 1TB NVMe SSD

The HZG M500 is a budget gaming desktop built around AMD's Ryzen 5 5600 processor and a Radeon RX 6600 8GB graphics card, paired with 16GB of DDR4-3200 and a 1TB NVMe SSD. It runs Windows 11 Home and includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, so it works out of the box without a wired connection. The 550W power supply and air cooler leave little headroom for big upgrades. At $809 at Newegg.com as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the HZG M500 worth $809?
At $809 at Newegg.com as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for a prebuilt with a Ryzen 5 5600 and RX 6600. Comparable DIY builds often land near this figure, so you pay a small premium for assembly and Windows. It is only a good buy if you want 1080p gaming without building.
Can it run modern games at 1080p?
Yes. The RX 6600 handles most current titles at 1080p on high settings, and 16GB of RAM covers typical game needs. Expect to lower settings or use upscaling for the heaviest new releases and for ray tracing.
Can I upgrade the CPU or GPU later?
The AM4 socket supports older Ryzen 5000 chips, so a CPU upgrade is possible but not a path to newer generations. The 550W power supply limits you to modest graphics card upgrades. Check the PSU connectors before buying a bigger GPU.
How much RAM can it take?
It ships with 16GB across two slots and supports up to 64GB of DDR4. Both slots are occupied, so upgrading means replacing the existing sticks rather than adding to them.
What comes in the box?
You get the desktop with Windows 11 Home installed, plus the power cable. A monitor, keyboard and mouse are not listed, so budget for those if you do not have them.
Is it good for video editing or streaming?
It can handle light editing and streaming thanks to the six-core Ryzen 5 5600 and 16GB of RAM. For heavy 4K editing, the RX 6600 and 16GB of memory will be the bottleneck.
Where is the HZG AMD Ryzen 5 5600 RX 6600 M500 1TB NVMe SSD cheapest?
At Newegg.com, for $809.00, as of our latest check.
