Is the I Dig Dinosaurs T-Rex Dig Kit worth it?

At $8.90 at Rainbow Resource Center as of November 5, 2026, it is a cheap way to get one afternoon of digging plus a model to keep. Expect a single session, not a long-term toy.

What age is this kit for?

The kit is recommended for ages 7 to 8. Younger kids may need help with the plaster and small pieces.

You get 12 skeleton pieces buried in a plaster block, excavation tools, and a descriptive manual. No batteries are needed.

Does it come with tools?

Yes. Excavation tools are included, so you only need to add newspaper or a tray to catch plaster dust.

How long does the dig take?
