Is this saw worth it for a beginner?

Yes, if you mostly rip boards and sheet goods and have space limits. Check the fence alignment on arrival and budget for a better blade.

Does it run on a standard outlet?

Yes. The 15A rating means it plugs into a normal household circuit, though you should avoid sharing that circuit with other heavy loads.

The saw, the folding stand, a 10-inch blade, blade guard, miter gauge and rip fence are typical for this class. Confirm the exact contents before ordering.

No dado capability is listed. Treat it as a standard ripping and crosscutting saw unless the manufacturer states otherwise.

How does it compare with a contractor saw?

It is lighter and cheaper but less rigid. A contractor saw gives a steadier fence and table for furniture-grade work.

Benchtop saws usually drop during spring and fall tool promotions and around major sales events. Compare store prices before buying.

Our take on the IdealHouse 1800W 10 in. 15A Table Saw with Portable Stand

The IdealHouse 1800W 10 in. table saw is a benchtop model with a folding portable stand, aimed at home woodworkers who need a full 10-inch blade without a permanent shop. Its 1800W motor is rated at 2.4 horsepower and the saw runs on a standard 15A circuit. It is a budget-tier saw, so expect stamped rather than cast components and a fence that needs checking.
