Our take on the INKin AS Adjustable Stroke Rotary Tattoo Gun

The INKin AS is a corded rotary tattoo machine with a stroke you can adjust, aimed at artists who want one gun for both fine line work and bold shading. It runs on 5-12VDC through an RCA cord, spins at about 9,000rpm, and weighs 189g in an aircraft aluminum body with a 30mm grip. Its best new price is $69.89 at INKin Tattoo Supply as of November 4, 2026, the low end of what the two stores listing it charge. That is cheap for an adjustable-stroke rotary, so expect a basic build rather than a premium one.

Pros
  • Adjustable stroke lets you tune the hit for fine lines or bold shading
  • Light at 189g, easier on the hand during long sessions
  • Aircraft aluminum body with a 30mm grip that most hands can hold comfortably
  • Standard RCA connection works with common power supplies
  • Low price for a machine with an adjustable stroke
Cons
  • Corded only, so no battery freedom
  • Single 4.0mm stroke setting is the only stroke figure listed, so range is unclear
  • No voltage readout or supply included in the listed specs
  • Budget machine, so expect less refinement than premium rotaries
  • Limited availability, only two stores list it new

Questions and answers

Is the INKin AS good for fine line work?
Yes, that is one of its stated uses. The adjustable stroke lets you shorten the hit for fine lines, and the light 189g body helps with control. It is a budget machine, so test it on practice skin before client work.
What stroke lengths can I set?
The listing gives a 4.0mm stroke and says the stroke is adjustable, but does not list the full range. Ask INKin Tattoo Supply for the exact settings before you buy if you need a specific stroke.
Does it come with a power supply or cord?
The specs list an RCA cord connection and 5-12VDC input but do not confirm what is in the box. Confirm with the store whether a cord or power supply is included, since many machines ship as the gun alone.
Is $69.89 a good price for it?
It is the best new price among the two stores listing it as of November 4, 2026. That is low for an adjustable-stroke rotary, so the price is good if the machine suits your work.
How does it compare with a fixed-stroke rotary?
A fixed-stroke machine is simpler and usually more consistent. The INKin AS gives you one gun for lining and shading, which saves money, but you give up the set-and-forget reliability of a single-stroke tool.
What voltage should I run it at?
It accepts 5-12VDC. Start low for fine line work and raise voltage for shading, and check the manufacturer's guidance for the stroke setting you use.
Where is the INKin AS Adjustable Stroke Rotary Tattoo Gun cheapest?
