Is the 8-quart Duo too big for a small household?
For one or two people it is usually more capacity than needed. A 6-quart model heats faster and fits under most cabinets more easily.
What is the difference between the Duo 80 and newer Duo models?
The Duo 80 is the older 8-quart Duo with seven functions. Newer Duo models add features such as a high-pressure yogurt setting or sous-vide, but the core pressure cooking works the same.
Can I use it for canning?
Instant Pot does not recommend the Duo for pressure canning low-acid foods. It is fine for water-bath canning and for cooking stocks and large batches.
