Is $14.99 a good price for the 76 oz tub?

Yes. That is at the low end for a 76 oz container, which often sells for $18 to $25 at hardware and grocery stores. Eight stores list it new, so compare shipping before buying.

How do I use it in the washing machine?

Dissolve the powder in water first, then add laundry and run a normal cycle. Do not pour powder directly onto fabric, and rinse well afterward.

Does it work in a water softener?

Yes. It is made to dissolve iron and rust deposits in the softener, which saves salt and lengthens the regeneration cycle. Follow the package dose for your softener size.

Is it safe on colored clothes?

Test a hidden spot first. It is acid-free and nontoxic, but it can lighten or spot some dyes, so it is safest on whites.

What is in the 76 oz bottle?

A single bottle of powdered rust remover. It is ready to use as a powder and must be dissolved in water before applying.
