Our take on the Ironmax 16" Push Lawn Mower with 5-Blade 6.9 Gallon Grass Catcher

The Ironmax is a manual reel mower with a 16-inch five-blade cutting cylinder and a 6.9-gallon grass catcher. It runs on no gas or battery, so the only upkeep is keeping the blades sharp and the reel adjusted. At $99.99 at Target as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price tracked, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Questions and answers

Is a reel mower worth it over a gas mower?
For a small, flat lawn, yes. You skip fuel, oil changes and pull starts. If your grass gets tall or your yard is large, a gas or battery mower will save you time and effort.
How often do the blades need sharpening?
Plan on sharpening the reel about once a season for a typical lawn, or sooner if the cut starts looking ragged. You can also adjust the blade gap yourself with basic tools.
Does it come with the grass catcher?
Yes. The 6.9-gallon catcher is included with the mower, so there is no separate bag to buy.
What lawn size suits a 16-inch reel mower?
It fits lawns up to roughly a quarter acre if the ground is fairly level. Bigger or bumpier yards take many more passes and more pushing effort.
Is $99.99 a good price?
Target lists it at $99.99 as of November 5, 2026, and it is the only new price tracked, so there is no recent low to beat. Compare it with other 16-inch reel mowers, which often sell in the same range.
Can it handle tall grass or weeds?
Not well. Reel mowers cut best on grass kept at a steady height; tall grass, weeds and twigs jam the reel or get missed.
Where is the Ironmax 16" Push Lawn Mower with 5-Blade 6.9 Gallon Grass Catcher cheapest?
At Target, for $99.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Ironmax 16" Push Lawn Mower with 5-Blade 6.9 Gallon Grass Catcher?
Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 34 ratings.
