Is the Jackery 550 worth it?

Yes if you need 550 Wh for camping or short outages and want quiet, fuel-free power. If you plan to run a fridge for days or a space heater, step up to a larger unit.

How long does the battery last?

A 60 W fridge runs about 8 hours, a 10 W phone charge takes minutes, and a 500 W appliance drains it in roughly an hour. Expect less in cold weather.

Can it run a CPAP machine overnight?

Yes. Most CPAP machines draw 30 to 60 W without humidifier heat, so 550 Wh covers one to two nights. Turn off the heated humidifier to stretch runtime.

How fast does it charge from solar?

With a 100 W panel it takes about 6 to 8 hours in good sun. Two 100 W panels cut that roughly in half. Wall charging is faster at around 5 to 7 hours.

What comes in the box?

The power station, an AC charging cable and a car charging cable. Solar panels are included only in bundle listings, so check the listing before buying.

Prices drop around Black Friday, Prime Day and spring camping sales. The current best price is already near its recent low, so waiting may not save much.

Our take on the Jackery Solar Generator 550

The Jackery Solar Generator 550 is a portable power station with a 550 Wh battery and a 1,000 W inverter, paired with a folding solar panel in bundle listings. It has seven outlets, including AC, USB and 12 V ports, and can be charged from a wall outlet, a car or solar panels. It suits camping, tailgating and short power outages rather than whole-home backup. The latest best price sits near the low end of its recent range, so it is a reasonable time to buy if you need one now.
