Is the Joybird Preston 68" sofa worth it?

It is a solid pick if you want a compact velvet sofa with low-emission certification and can buy on sale. At full price it competes with larger sofas from mainstream brands, so compare the current price to its recent range.

How many people does the 68-inch Preston seat?

Two adults comfortably, or three if they sit close. The seat is 62 inches wide, so it is a two-seater in practice.

What is the seat height and depth?

The seat is 18 inches high and 22 inches deep, which suits most adults sitting upright. The 8.5-inch legs give it a light, legged look.

Is the velvet fabric good for pets and kids?

Velvet is plush but collects pet hair and shows crushing and marks. It cleans with a soft brush and vacuum, but it is not the most forgiving fabric for heavy use.

What does GREENGUARD Gold mean on this sofa?

It means the sofa meets strict limits on volatile organic compound emissions, so it is a safer choice for bedrooms and nurseries.

When is the Preston sofa cheapest?

Joybird discounts most during major holiday sales and sitewide promotions. Track the price history and buy when it drops below its recent range rather than at list price.

Our take on the Joybird Preston 68" Sofa

The Joybird Preston is a 68-inch modern sofa with a plush velvet Royale upholstery, handcrafted construction, and tapered wooden legs. Its compact footprint (68"w x 35"d) and 18-inch seat height make it a good fit for smaller living rooms and apartments. GREENGUARD Gold certification means low chemical emissions, which matters for bedrooms and nurseries. Joybird runs frequent sales, so the price swings more than at mainstream furniture stores; check the current price against its recent range before buying.
