Our take on the Joystone FPV Drone with 720p HD Camera

The Joystone FPV Drone is a foldable beginner quadcopter with a 720p camera, a second switchable camera for FPV viewing on a phone, and brushless motors. It ships with two 3.7V 3000mAh batteries that together give over 50 minutes of flight time, plus beginner aids like altitude hold, headless mode and one-key take-off and landing. Its latest best price is $49.79 at Walmart as of October 31, 2026, essentially flat against its recent range of $49.79 to $49.89. At under $50 it is a low-cost first drone rather than a serious camera platform.

Questions and answers

Is the Joystone FPV drone worth it?: For under $50 with two batteries and brushless motors, it is a reasonable first drone for a kid or casual flyer. Do not expect stabilized 720p footage or long-range flight.
How long can it fly on a charge?: The two included 3.7V 3000mAh batteries give over 50 minutes of total flight time, roughly 25 minutes per pack. Actual time drops in wind or at higher speeds.
How far can it fly from the controller?: The rated operating distance is 0.1 miles, about 160 meters. Keep it in open space and within sight, since there is no GPS return-to-home.
Does it work with a phone?: Yes. The second camera streams real-time FPV video to a phone app, which also handles trajectory flight drawing. You still control the drone with its own remote.
What is in the box?: The drone, two 3.7V 3000mAh lithium batteries, a controller and the usual charging and propeller spares. Check the listing for the exact accessory list before ordering.
When is it cheapest?: Its recent low is $49.79, recorded October 31, 2026, against a high of $49.89. The spread is only ten cents, so timing barely matters.
