Are these cleats only for turf?

Yes. The rubber sole is made for turf and artificial grass. On natural grass they offer less traction, and on indoor courts they can feel stiff.

Do they run true to size?

Kelme kids' sizes generally run close to standard US kids' sizing. If your child is between sizes or has wide feet, size up.

Are they good for a beginner?

Yes. They are a simple, low-cost lace-up shoe for recreational play. A beginner does not need a pricier model.
