Is the K-Duo worth it over a single-serve Keurig?

If you regularly brew pots for two or more people, yes. The carafe side and 72 oz shared reservoir save you from running single pods back to back. For one pod drinker, a smaller Keurig costs less and takes less counter space.

How is it different from the K-Duo Plus?

The K-Duo Plus adds a movable 60 oz reservoir that can sit behind or beside the brewer and brew sizes up to 12 oz on the pod side. This K-Duo has a fixed 72 oz reservoir and pod sizes of 6, 8, 10 and 12 oz.

What comes in the box?

The brewer, a glass 12-cup carafe, a water filter handle and filter, and a starter set of K-Cup pods. You supply your own ground coffee for the carafe side.

Can I use my own ground coffee in the single-serve side?

Yes, with a Keurig My K-Cup reusable filter, which is sold separately. Out of the box, the pod side takes standard K-Cup pods only.
