Our take on the Kinetic Sand Sandisfying Set

The Kinetic Sand Sandisfying Set is a play kit with 2 lbs of moldable sand, 1 lb red and 1 lb blue, plus tools for shaping and squishing it. The sand holds its shape and never dries out, so it can be reused and stored without going hard. It is aimed at kids 3 and up and is meant for indoor play. The best new price is $29.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the Kinetic Sand Sandisfying Set worth it?
It is a reasonable buy if your child likes sensory play and you want sand that can be reused rather than replaced. At $29.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is a mid-range price for a 2 lb kit with tools.
How does it compare with plain play sand?
Kinetic Sand sticks to itself, so it holds shapes and is easier to clean up than loose play sand. It also never dries out, while plain sand is a one-use material outdoors.
What is included in the box?
You get 2 lbs of Kinetic Sand, 1 lb red and 1 lb blue, plus shaping and cutting tools and an instruction sheet. A tray or mat is not included.
Is it safe for a 3-year-old?
It is recommended for ages 3 and up and carries a CE mark. It is not for children under 36 months because of small parts and the risk of ingestion.
Does the sand dry out?
No. Kinetic Sand is formulated to stay moldable and does not dry out, though it should be kept covered between uses to keep dust and pet hair out.
When is it cheapest?
Only one store lists it new, at $29.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, so there is no lower competing price to wait for. Watch for seasonal toy sales if you are not in a hurry.
Where is the Kinetic Sand Sandisfying Set cheapest?
At eBay, for $29.99, as of our latest check.
