Questions and answers

Is this set worth it for a first kitchen?
Yes, if you want a complete block set cheaply. At $24.99 at Boscov's as of November 8, 2026, it covers the core knives and shears. Expect to sharpen more often than with forged knives.
Are the knives dishwasher safe?
No. Kitchenworks lists hand wash only, and dishwasher heat and detergent will dull the edges and wear the rubber handles.
What knives are in the 15-piece set?
It includes paring, utility and santoku knives plus kitchen shears, all stored in the walnut-finished hardwood block.
Are the blades serrated?
The set is listed with serrated blade edges. That suits bread and tomatoes but gives less clean slices on meat and vegetables than a plain edge.
When is the best time to buy it?
Block sets like this usually drop around Black Friday and holiday sales. The current best is $24.99 at Boscov's as of November 8, 2026.
