Questions and answers

Is the KIWDZFU emergency radio worth $103.98?

Only if you specifically want a hand crank plus NOAA weather band and are willing to pay a premium. At $103.98 from Lowe's as of November 3, 2026, it costs more than most hand-crank weather radios, and one store selling it means no discount pressure.

How does the hand crank work?

You turn the folding crank by hand to generate power for the radio, so it works when batteries are dead and there is no outlet. Expect to crank for a while to build up listening time, and treat it as a backup rather than the main power source.

Does it pick up NOAA weather alerts?

Yes. It tunes the NOAA weather band along with AM and FM, so you can hear official forecasts and warnings directly. It is a receiver, so it does not send alerts on its own.

What comes in the box?

The listing does not spell out the accessories. Expect the radio itself and a crank handle; check the box contents for a charging cable or batteries before you rely on it in an emergency.

When is the best time to buy it?

Watch the price around hurricane season and winter storm season, when emergency radios go on sale. With only one new-price seller at $103.98 as of November 3, 2026, any drop below that is worth taking.

Where is the KIWDZFU Emergency Weather Radio with AM/FM and NOAA Channels cheapest?
