Is the RP-1200SW worth it over the RP-1000SW?

The 1200SW adds a larger cabinet and more output for bigger rooms. In a small room the 1000SW is usually enough; in a large or open space the 1200SW's extra headroom is worth the price gap.

Klipsch rates it from 16.5 Hz to 138 Hz. Real in-room output depends on placement, but it reaches movie LFE depths that most 10-inch subs miss.

Does it need a special receiver?

No. It takes a standard RCA subwoofer or line output from any AV receiver or preamp. There is no wireless option, so you need a cable run.

It measures 17 inches wide, 18.9 inches high and 25.9 inches deep and weighs 68.6 pounds. Plan for floor space and leave room behind the rear port.

Can I control it from my phone?

No. There is no app, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Crossover, phase and level are set with the cabinet controls and your receiver.
