Does the Kobalt 24V angle grinder come with a battery?

Typically no. It is sold as a bare tool, so you need a Kobalt 24V battery and charger, which are sold separately. Check the listing to confirm what is included.

What size discs does it take?

It takes 5-inch wheels with a 7/8-inch arbor, the common size for angle grinder discs. 4.5-inch discs will not fit this model.

Is it worth it over a corded grinder?

If you already own Kobalt 24V batteries and work away from outlets, yes. For long, heavy grinding sessions, a corded grinder gives more sustained power for less money.

What can I do with an 8,500 RPM grinder?

Cutting and grinding metal, removing rust, sanding and polishing with the right attachments. It is fine for light to medium jobs, but slower than high-output corded grinders on thick steel.

When is the price lowest?

Cordless tool prices tend to drop during holiday sales and Lowe's tool events. The best new price was $120 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, so compare against that before buying.
