Our take on the Kodiak Slim 700 Lumen Tactical Grade Flashlight

The Kodiak Slim is a 700-lumen tactical-style flashlight in an aerospace-grade aluminum body that weighs 0.33 lb and stands 5 inches tall. It runs on three AAA batteries, not a rechargeable cell, and offers three brightness modes plus strobe, with a focusable beam that throws about 131 feet. Run time is 4 hours on medium and 12 hours on low, and the tail has a strike bezel. At $10.29 at Tractor Supply Company as of November 5, 2026, it is a low-cost entry point for a metal-bodied light.

Best forA glovebox or kitchen-drawer light you don't want to rechargeCamping and power-outage backup where AAA batteries are easy to swapBuyers who want a metal tactical-style body on a tight budgetShort-range spotting and general walk-around use
Pros
  • Aluminum body at 0.33 lb is light and pocketable
  • Focusable beam switches between spot and flood
  • Three brightness levels plus strobe
  • 12-hour low mode stretches a set of AAAs
  • Strike bezel and water-resistant construction add durability
Cons
  • Runs on three AAA batteries, so you pay for disposables over time
  • 4 hours on medium is short for a 700-lumen light
  • 131-foot throw is modest for a tactical-grade claim
  • No rechargeable battery or charging port
  • 700 lumens is the top claim; low mode drops to 100 lumens

Questions and answers

Is the Kodiak Slim 700 worth buying at $10.29?
At $10.29 at Tractor Supply Company as of November 5, 2026, it is cheap for an aluminum-bodied focusable light. Expect a solid backup light rather than a duty-grade tactical tool.
How long do the batteries last?
Kodiak rates it at 4 hours on medium and 12 hours on low. Top brightness will drain a set of three AAAs faster than the medium figure.
Can I use rechargeable AAA batteries?
Yes. The light takes standard AAA cells, so NiMH rechargeables work, but the flashlight itself has no charging port.
How far does the beam reach?
About 131 feet of throw. The focus ring lets you narrow it to a spotlight or widen it to flood for close work.
What comes in the box?
The flashlight and, typically, a set of three AAA batteries. Check the listing for the exact contents before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
Prices on this light move little, but it has sold near $10 at Tractor Supply Company. Watch for seasonal hardware and outdoor promotions.
Where is the Kodiak Slim 700 Lumen Tactical Grade Flashlight cheapest?
At Tractor Supply Company, for $10.29, 59% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Kodiak Slim 700 Lumen Tactical Grade Flashlight?
3 stores we checked sell it, including Tractor Supply Company, Litezall, Walmart.
