Our take on the Kurt Adler 10.24-Inch Battery-Operated LED Lighted Angel Lantern

The Kurt Adler LED Angel Lantern is a 10.24-inch Christmas figurine: an angel figure set inside a lantern-style frame, lit from within by battery-operated LEDs. It is a tabletop or mantel piece rather than an outdoor decoration, and the cordless design means it can sit anywhere without an outlet. Kurt Adler is a long-established holiday decor brand, and this sits in its mid-priced figurine range.

Pros

  • LED bulbs run cool and last far longer than incandescent
  • At 10.24 inches it reads clearly on a mantel or console

Cons
  • Batteries are not included and will need replacing through the season
  • LED glow is decorative, not bright enough to light a room

Questions and answers

Is it worth it compared with a plug-in lighted lantern?
If you need light where there is no outlet, yes. A plug-in lantern gives steadier brightness, but this one goes anywhere on a shelf or mantel without a cord.
What batteries does it take, and are they included?
It runs on battery power, and batteries are typically not included. Check the battery compartment for the cell size before the season starts so you are not hunting for them on Christmas Eve.
Can I use it outdoors?
Treat it as an indoor piece. It is a decorative figurine, not a weather-rated outdoor lantern, so keep it on a covered porch at most.
How bright is the LED light?
It gives a soft accent glow meant to highlight the angel figure. It will not light a room, but it shows well in a dim room or as part of an evening display.
How tall is it, and where does it fit?
It stands 10.24 inches tall, so it suits a mantel, console, entry table or bookshelf. Measure shelf clearance if you plan to tuck it under a cabinet.
When is the cheapest time to buy Christmas decor like this?
Prices on holiday decor usually drop after Christmas and during early fall pre-season sales. Use the price history on this page to see whether the current price is above or below its usual range.
